One Day, Two Events: SUNFLOWERS in Action
February 5th was a remarkable day for the SUNFLOWERS project, with two parallel events taking place in Košice and Bratislava. Although held in different parts of Slovakia, both events shared a common goal – to raise awareness of the project, promote battery research and innovation, and connect with students, researchers, and industry representatives.

Inspiring Future Scientists in Košice
At the Open Day of the Faculty of Science, Pavol Jozef Šafárik University, prospective students had the opportunity to explore the world of chemistry and discover the exciting research opportunities available at the faculty. As part of the programme, two PhD students involved in the SUNFLOWERS project introduced visitors to their research activities, shared their personal experiences as early-career researchers, and presented the project's mission to develop innovative solutions for next-generation battery technologies. Their presentations offered future students a glimpse into how cutting-edge research is translated into real scientific and societal impact.

Workshop organised by the Slovak Battery Alliance
On the same day, colleagues from UPJŠ participated in a workshop organised by the Slovak Battery Alliance (SBaA), one of the key partners of the SUNFLOWERS project. The event brought together representatives from academia and industry, creating a valuable platform for discussing current trends in battery technologies, innovation, and future collaboration opportunities. It also enabled direct networking with companies that are members of the Alliance, reinforcing the project's strong links with industrial partners.
